Breast Center of Irvine is focused on your breast health needs. We offer each woman a comprehensive care plan whether she has a referral from her physician or, she is seeking a second opinion. Patients who come to the Breast Center will be evaluated by specialists in diagnostic mammography, diagnosis and treatment.
With our multidisciplinary approach, a patient who comes to us for a second opinion can have her mammogram results, biopsies and treatment options reviewed during a single visit. A treatment plan is tailored to meet each individual patient’s needs after discussion with our radiation oncologists and radiologists who specialize in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. This integrated approach allows the patient to make an educated decision about her care with input from a collective team of experts.
WHAT IS SECOND OPINION?
A second opinion is when a doctor, other than your regular physician, provides his or her view about your health problem and gives advice about how it should be treated. Getting a second opinion can help you make a more informed decision about your care.
WHEN SHOULD I SEEK A SECOND OPINION?
If your doctor tells you that you need surgery to diagnose or treat a health problem that isn’t an emergency, you should consider getting a second opinion. It is entirely up to you to decide when and if you will have surgery. You might also want a second opinion if your doctor advises you that you should have certain types of major non-surgical procedures.
